Here's what to expect from your first visit:

Please allow 1 to 1 1/2 hours for your first visit; patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

1. Patient Information: You'll be asked to fill out some forms requesting information on your medical history, the medications you are taking, and any dental insurance coverage you may have. You will also be asked to review and sign HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) forms.

2. X-rays: Plan on having x-rays taken at your first visit, unless you are able to bring a recent set (taken within the past six months) with you.

3. Oral Examination: The dentist will perform a complete examination of your mouth, and will discuss any treatment you may need. Your teeth cleaning may be performed at this visit, or might be scheduled for a follow-up visit.
